What is Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.0 model focus and core capabilities

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's audiovisual generation model. It combines text, image, video and audio inputs to guide short clips with subject action, camera movement and sound. Image-to-video begins with one image and a written motion brief. Use the image to establish the starting subject and composition, then describe what should move and what should stay recognizable. This mode accepts exactly one starting image, not a last frame or a collection of references.

The RequestBeam Seedance 2.0 online tool and API

RequestBeam provides an authenticated image upload and a Seedance 2.0 image-to-video workspace. Upload one PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 10 MiB, add a motion prompt, and generate using your account. The image uses the first_frame role; this page does not send local paths or data URIs to generation.

Seedance 2.0 capabilities and domain strengths

Choose one clear image whose subject and framing suit the intended clip. Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 10 MiB after signing in; the account upload returns a media URL used by the video request.

The image establishes the opening composition

The uploaded image is sent with the first_frame role. It guides the starting composition; it does not promise that every pixel or detail will remain unchanged throughout the result.

Wait for the upload before generating

Finish uploading before you submit a video generation. A local path, blob URL or image data URI is not sent directly as generation media. Replace or remove the image when changing the brief.

Describe movement rather than redrawing the image

Describe the subject action, camera path and details to preserve. Select a fixed integer duration of 4-15 seconds, a resolution of 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4k, and an output ratio suited to the source image. Generated audio is a separate optional setting.

Joint audiovisual generation and output review

Seedance 2.0 can generate sound alongside the image sequence, supporting exploration of ambience, action effects and dialogue in short shots. Generated audio is an output setting; audio-reference inputs depend on the selected mode, so native multimodal capability does not mean every page accepts every media type.

Seedance 2.0 generation performance and evaluation

Evaluate video quality against real inputs and the intended use. The checks below focus on observable output, not a promise that a demonstration or single example predicts quality, latency or business success.

Starting composition and subject identity

Compare the video opening against the supplied image, then inspect the subject throughout the clip. Check outlines, materials, important details and background placement rather than assuming the input guarantees fidelity.

Motion and camera stability

Check whether the requested movement comes from the subject or camera. Watch for unwanted deformation, duplicated details and abrupt perspective changes during the whole sequence.

Review the opening and the full motion

Check the starting composition, subject identity and movement across the entire clip. A successful task status does not guarantee that the image remains visually consistent.

Use first and last frames when a particular ending image matters, or multimodal references when other media should guide appearance, movement or sound.

Record total duration, rework and actual cost

Use a consistent task set to record submission-to-result time, revision count and account charges. Distinguish waiting, task completion and human acceptance. Establish an acceptable quality and budget before increasing volume, rather than treating one wait as a stable service-speed estimate.

Seedance 2.0 text, image, frame and multimodal modes compared

The four modes use the same Seedance 2.0 model. They differ in how inputs guide a new clip, not in a ranking of separate models. Choose by the assets you have and the constraints that matter instead of retrying an unsuitable input mode.

Seedance 2.0 input modes and suitable tasks
Comparison Text to video Image to video First and last frames Multimodal references
Required input Nonempty text prompt, no media One image and a motion prompt One first frame; last frame optional At least one image or video reference
Primary guidance Text defines subject, action and camera One image defines the opening Images define opening and target composition Assets guide appearance, motion and sound
Suitable starting point A new idea without existing assets An existing image to animate A defined opening or ending composition Existing visual or audio material to draw from
Review focus Prompt adherence and temporal continuity Subject consistency and motion Boundary composition and intermediate motion Reference contribution, conflicts and sound alignment

Choose by the role of the media

Use image-to-video to animate one starting image, and frame mode when a designated ending image matters. Use multimodal references when an image guides appearance, or when video motion or audio also matters. Start with text-to-video when no media is needed, and do not copy another mode's media fields without checking their roles.

Compare video models on RequestBeam

Evaluate Seedance 2.5 with the same creative brief and acceptance criteria when considering another video model. Review its supported duration, inputs and account prices separately; a version name does not establish speed, cost or quality for every scene.

Image-to-video prompt: a gentle product orbit

Begin from the supplied product image. Keep the product stationary and recognizable while the camera makes a slow, small clockwise orbit over five seconds. Preserve the product silhouette, material and lighting. One continuous shot, no cuts, no text and no extra objects.

Original practice brief for one image that you supply, not a published image-to-video result. Try 5 seconds and 720p; choose the ratio for your image and inspect subject consistency during the orbit.

Seedance 2.0 API FAQ

Which images can I upload?

Upload one PNG, JPEG or WebP file up to 10 MiB while signed in. The authenticated upload returns a media URL. Do not place a local file path or image data URI directly in the generation request.

Can I add a second image in image-to-video?

No. This mode accepts exactly one first-frame image. Use first and last frames for an optional ending image, or multimodal references for multiple input media.

Is image-to-video a different Seedance 2.0 model?

No. It uses model: seedance-2.0 and one first_frame image with the same asynchronous video API. The separate mode keeps the single-image workflow distinct from text-only and multi-input tasks.

Will the supplied image be reproduced exactly?

Do not assume exact pixel preservation. The image guides the opening composition, while the prompt guides movement. Review the opening and later frames before accepting the result.

Do the four Seedance 2.0 pages use different model parameters?

No. All four input modes use model: seedance-2.0, submit an asynchronous video task to POST /v1/video/seedance, and query GET /v1/jobs/{jobId}. Do not substitute a page mode, display name or another model ID for the API model value.

Which durations and output settings does Seedance 2.0 support?

The current RequestBeam interface uses integer durations from 4 to 15 seconds, defaulting to 5. Resolutions are 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4k; ratios are 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 21:9 and adaptive. Generated audio is separate. Do not use -1 for automatic duration or add seed, negativePrompt or other undocumented parameters.

How should I troubleshoot authentication, balance or generation errors?

Check Bearer authentication, balance, seedance-2.0 model access and the required inputs for the selected mode, then verify media accessibility. Retain the full error and job ID, and distinguish submission failure, a pending job and task failure instead of inferring the cause from one numeric code.

How can I confirm the cost of Seedance 2.0 generation?

Check pricing for the resolution, duration and presence of video input in this page's pricing section, then confirm actual charges against account records. An unavailable price does not mean free generation; do not apply another version's rates or text-model pricing to this video task.
